Mr. Waziri Adio, newspaper columnist, policy enthusiast and former public official, is the founder of Agora Policy. He had a five-year, non-renewable stint as the Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (NEITI), an experience he documented in his memoir, “The Arc of the Possible.” He has also held senior positions in different organisations, ranging from Contributing Editor and Editor-at-Large at This Day Newspapers, Publisher of Metropole Magazine, Special Adviser to the President of the Senate, and Communication Specialist at UNDP.
He was educated at the University of Lagos, Columbia University, and Harvard University, where he earned a BSc in Mass Communication, an MSc in Journalism, and an MPA in Public Administration respectively. At different times, he was a fellow of the Nieman Foundation for Journalists and the Edward S. Mason Fellowship in Public Policy and Management, both at Harvard University, the Africa Leadership Initiative for West Africa (ALIWA), and the African Studies Centre at the University of Oxford.
