Founder
Waziri Adio

Agora Policy was founded by Waziri Adio, a renowned journalist, policy expert and former public official. He is the immediate past Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (NEITI) and the author of ‘The Arc of the Possible’, a memoir of his stewardship at NEITI. He is also a Contributing Editor to the THISDAY/ARIVETV group.

He has held senior positions in different organisations, ranging from editor and columnist at This Day Newspapers, special adviser to the Senate President, communication specialist for UNDP, lead consultant at TTC, and the publisher of Metropole, an Abuja-based magazine, which he founded in 2012.

He was educated at the University of Lagos, Columbia University, and Harvard University, where he earned a BSc in Mass Communication, a MS in Journalism, and an MPA in Public Administration respectively.

At different times, he was also a Fellow of the Nieman Foundation for Journalism and an Edward S. Mason Fellow in public policy and management at Harvard University, a Visiting Fellow at the African Studies Centre, University of Oxford, and a fellow of the African Leadership Initiative West Africa (ALIWA).
